Cookie Policy

What this page is
A cookie is a small file a site keeps in your browser. This page lists every cookie ioovc.org writes, what each one does and how long it lasts. There are few: the IOOVC uses no advertising network beyond Meta, sells data to nobody and builds no behavioural profile outside this site.
1. Strictly necessary
Without these the site does not work: they are what keeps you signed in, what remembers your language, and what support uses to help you. They measure no audience and go to no third party.

2. Advertising measurement (Meta)
The IOOVC advertises on Instagram and Facebook. To know which ad brings entries — and not burn money on the ones that don't — the Meta pixel writes two cookies in your browser.

When an entry is paid, the server reports the conversion to Meta with your e-mail turned into an irreversible hash (SHA-256), never in readable form, together with those identifiers. It is the same measurement every advertising site does; what is different here is that it is written down.
How to refuse: block third-party cookies or use your browser's tracking protection (Firefox, Safari and Brave ship it on by default), or clear this site's cookies — see section 4. Refusing changes nothing about your entry, your project or your judging.
3. Usage measurement
We use Mixpanel to see which pages people visit and where the path to registration stalls. It uses no cookie here: it keeps a random identifier in the browser's `localStorage`, with no name, no e-mail and no document number. A copy of those same navigation events is kept on our own server, for the same reason — measuring the funnel without depending on a third party.
To delete it, clear this site's data in your browser; to never create it, any tracker blocker will do.
4. How to erase everything
In any browser, a site's cookies and local storage are cleared from the padlock next to the address bar, or under Settings → Privacy → Site data. Clearing the necessary ones simply signs you out; nothing is lost.
